# Student Setup Guide – HMC-Lab Online Experiments

Welcome! 🎓  
This guide explains how **students** should set up Git and deploy their online experiments to:

- **GitLab repo**: `git@git.rwth-aachen.de:students2/students.git`
- **Lab server (auto-deploy)**: `/data/git_repos/students.git` → `https://experiments.hmc-lab.com/students/<your-folder>/`

## 1. Prerequisites

Before you start, you need:

1. A **GitLab account** with access to  
   `students2/students` on `git.rwth-aachen.de`.
2. An SSH key configured for GitLab (ask your supervisor if unsure).
3. Git installed on your laptop (`git --version` should work in a terminal).

## 2. Clone the students repository

Pick a folder on your laptop where you want to keep the project, then run:


```bash
cd /path/where/you/store/projects
git clone git@git.rwth-aachen.de:students2/students.git

cd students 

Changes made
